YouTube Launches $ 100M Fund to Pay Users to Create Content at YouTube Shorts

YouTube is creating the Shorts Fund, a $ 100 million fund that will be paid out to creators of short videos over the period 2021-2022.

Because shorts are a new way to watch and create on YouTube, we’ve taken a fresh look at what it means to monetize and reward creators for their content. Today we are sharing the latest updates as we continue to create short films with our community of creators and artists.

Introducing YouTube Shorts Fund!

We present YouTube Shorts Fund, a $ 100 million fund distributed over 2021-2022. Anyone can participate in the fund by simply creating unique short films that the YouTube community will love.

Every month we reach out to the thousands of authors whose shorts have received the most attention and views to reward them for their contributions. We will also ask these creators to share their feedback with us so that we can continue to improve our product.

The Short Film Foundation isn’t just limited to creators in the YouTube Affiliate Program. Creators will be eligible to participate if they create original content for short films and adhere to our community guidelines.

We’ll share more information as we get closer to launching the fund in the coming months.
